Cotton Development Trust Fund (CDTF) was incorporated in Tanzania on 4th March 2008 under the Trustees Incorporation Act (CAP.318 R.E. 2002) as per certificate of incorporation No. 3352. The Fund replaced the Cotton Development Fund (CDF), which was established under the Cotton Industry Act No. 2 of 2001. Formation of the Fund was in line with the wishes of the Cotton Industry Stakeholders, as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 21st April 2006.
Cotton Development Trust Fund is seeking qualified, young, and dynamic Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions under a contractual basis.
Position: Agricultural Officer II (Cotton Classers) – 2 Posts
1.0 Qualification (Education Requirement):
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Agriculture General, Agronomy, Agriculture Engineering, Irrigation, Agro-mechanization, or any other related qualification from recognized institutions.
2.0 Qualitative Requirement:
The candidate must have good communication skills.
Should have a good command of English and Kiswahili languages.
Should have good cooperative skills with the ability to work effectively with teams.
Must be 18 years old and above.

3.0 Duties and Responsibilities:
To classify cotton in accordance with rules, regulations, and International Standards.
To conduct machines (HVI) calibration and sample testing.
To prepare and issue periodic reports on the classification of cotton from various ginneries.
To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his or her supervisor.

4.0 Duty Station: Shinyanga
5.0 Duration: Six months, subject to renewal.
6.0 General Conditions:

Professional certificates
Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates

(iii) Form IV result slips are strictly not accepted. Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV will necessitate legal action.
(iv) Applicants should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts in their CV.
(v) Certificates from foreign universities should be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) or the National Accreditation Council for Technical Education (NACTE) for foreign non-degree certificates.
(vi) Only qualified candidates will be contacted for further processes.
(vii) Application closing date will be 13th June, 2025.
Remuneration: Remuneration will be paid according to TCB salary scale.
