Africa Inland Mission International, a non-profit organization, is seeking motivated, servant hearted, devote follower of Jesus Christ interested in meeting the logistical needs of the mission community in East and Central Africa.

Job Purpose/Objective

Assist AIM AIR in its goal to consistently provide accurate, efficient and reliable services by providing support to flight operations and line service.

KEY RESULT AREAS (Highlighted in bold)

NB – Under each key result area the duty is indicated

1. Flight request processing

• Assist in Flight Request Processing Duties

• Assist in Flight Record keeping

2. Flight preparation

• Assist in applying, tracking and obtaining all required permissions for individual flights

• Assist in applying, tracking and obtaining required Country permissions

• Assist in completing flight folders accurately 24 hours before launch

• Assist in coordinating with Line Service to support flights

• Assist in the preparation and filing of flight plans

• Assist in obtaining NOTAMs

• Assist in the review, collection, and filing of general declarations and passenger manifests

3. In Flight Support

• Assist in effectively communicating for and with AIM AIR aircraft crew and maintaining a constant awareness of their locations, routing and timings.

• Assist in Flight Following

4. Line Service Support

• Cleaning/detailing

• Configuration of seats and assist in fueling as instructed by the pilot

• Provision of passenger comfort items

• Assist in moving and marshalling of aircraft

• Assist in coordinating with customs and immigration when AIM AIR aircraft arrive with no passengers or cargo

• Assist in the preparation and loading of freight and passenger baggage

• Assist passengers departing and arriving with customs and immigration requirements

• Assist with routine aspects of aircraft maintenance i.e. maintenance of kits

• Facilitate airside access for AIM AIR and GCP Clients, particularly on weekends and off hours

5. Any other Duty assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications/Experience & Communication Demands Qualification

(NB - Training to Add value to the Position)

Essential

• Diploma (flight dispatcher/ flight operations) from KCAA approved training institutions.

• Is actively pursuing a KCAA - Flight Operations Officer’s License or has one

• Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)

• Certificate of Good Conduct

Preferred/Desired

• Valid Driver’s License

• KCAA Flight Operations Officer’s License

Experience

Preferred

• Minimum of one years’ experience in aviation, dealing with aircraft, crew, customers and Government officials 

Communication demands

• Professional written and verbal English and Kiswahili communication
