Assistant Finance Officer

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including preparing and processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare statutory returns payments, including VAT, PAYE, NSSF, and NHIF, in a timely manner.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely collections and payments.
- Collaborate with the finance team to streamline accounting procedures and implement best practices.
- Provide financial insights to management to aid in decision-making and strategy formulation.
- Assist in audits by providing necessary financial data and supporting documentation.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions and records.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or a related field.
- CPA Part 1 qualification
- A minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in an insurance field
- Proficiency in accounting software or similar tools.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
