Kenya Development Corporation Ltd (KDC) is a Development Finance Institution which was established in 2020 to merge the operations of Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC), Tourism Finance Corporation (TFC) and IDB Capital Limited. KDC is mandated to play a catalytic role in Kenya’s socio-economic development by providing long-term financing and other financial, investment and business advisory services. Therefore, KDC plays an important role in addressing critical gaps for long-term funding that cannot be met by commercial banks in target sectors in Kenya and elsewhere.
Summary
The Assistant Manager Portfolio Management will be responsible for undertaking analysis of mature investments and advice on viability of retaining such investments and the management of historical non-performing loans portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities entail:
- Managing relationships with investees.
- Collecting and analyzing investment portfolio data to monitor investment returns and risk levels.
- Monitoring and report risk in assigned investment geographies.
- Identifying high risk investments and propose strategies to mitigate risk.
- Coordinating with Investment appraisal department to ensure effective and timely communications of the progress and impact of the investment portfolio.
- Coordinating with Investment Officers to ensure regulatory, reporting
- Ensuring compliance in investment geographies.
- Participating in investor meetings and calls to provide portfolio updates.
- Providing content for concept notes and proposals to potential investors.
Person Specifications
For a candidate to be appointed to this position, they must have;
- At least eight (8) years’ relevant work experience, four (4) of which must have been in a supervisory role.
- Master’s degree in in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Business, Economics, Engineering or any other relevant field from a recognized Institution;
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Business,
- Economics, Engineering or any other relevant field from a recognized Institution;
- Merit and ability as shown in work performance
- Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
- Meets the requirements of Chapter sic of the Constitution
