We are looking for a Qualified Finance Intern

Kafika House is an I-NGO that runs the Kafika House programme. We provide a safe and loving home away from home for children receiving pre and post operative care and rehabilitation for surgically treatable disabilities, which may include: cleft lip and palate, clubfoot, skeletal fluorosis, burn scar contractures, osteomyelitis, hydrocephalus and spina bifida. Our vision is that no child in Tanzania lives with a treatable disability.

Job Overview and General Responsibilities

Kafika House, an international NGO, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in an international NGO setting and contribute to impactful work.

Location: Arusha – Tanzania (Short term Internship contract)

Finance Intern – 1 position

Key working relationships with Finance Coordinator,Chief finance officer,Finance controller,Programmes Manager, Facility Coordinators and Programmes (Operations) team members.

Role Responsibilities

  1. Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and reports.
  2. Support the Finance Coordinator in processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  3. Participate in monthly reconciliations of accounts, including bank and supplier statements.
  4. Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts for projects and organizational operations.
  5. Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures.
  6. Assist in auditing processes by organizing and providing required documentation.
  7. Monitor expenditure to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  8. Maintain accurate and secure financial documentation, both digital and physical.
  9. Support other administrative duties as required within the finance department

Education, skills, and experience

  1. CPA Graduate Prefered
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is an added advantage.
  3. Proficiency in accounting software and tools
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  6. Proficient in written and spoken English and Swahili.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
