    Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and evaluate financial, operational, strategic, and compliance-related risks across the business.
    • Analyse key risk indicators (KRIs), financial performance data, and market intelligence to proactively identify emerging risks and opportunities.
    • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s risk management framework, strategies, and policies.
    • Maintain and update the enterprise risk register, ensuring timely documentation and tracking risk mitigation plans.
    • Collaborate with departments including underwriting, finance, claims, legal, and operations to assess and address cross-functional risks.
    • Prepare and present risk reports and dashboards for executive management, board committees, and regulators.
    • Monitor adherence to internal risk management policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., insurance regulators, IFRS 17, ORSA, etc.).
    • Support the integration and maintenance of risk management tools, including incident reporting and control testing systems.
    • Facilitate risk awareness training and workshops to build a strong risk culture within the organization.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented risk mitigation controls and propose improvements where necessary. 
    • Stay current on reinsurance industry trends, risk-related regulations, and emerging risks (e.g., ESG, cyber risks, geopolitical).        

    Requirements

    Minimum requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Insurance, or a related field.
    • Progression in professional certification in risk, finance, or insurance is desirable.
    • Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in risk management, preferably in a reinsurance or financial services environment.
    • Demonstrated experience working with enterprise risk frameworks, regulatory compliance, and risk analytics tools.
    • Familiarity with regional and international regulatory environments affecting reinsurance (e.g., Insurance Regulatory Authorities, Solvency frameworks).

    Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

    • In charge of the overall performance of the project’s procurement section.
    • Carry out procurement processes in line with the laid down policies as well as World Bank regulations and the laws of the land and be a lead custodian of these policies and regulations.
    • Prepare formal invitations for bids and requests for quotations, including required special terms and conditions, performance, and technical criteria.
    • Routinely sensitize the project staff on procurement processes.
    • Sit in procurement review committee meetings and take minutes of the deliberations.
    • Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures
    • Conduct routine vendor circularization and accounts reconciliations.
    • Participates in developing, facilitating, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing the project’s procurement plans.
    • Ensure that all the vendors that do business with the project are properly registered and are subjected to proper due diligence processes including Bridger checks.
    • Identify opportunities and implement actions aimed at achieving efficiencies and value maximization in procurement processes.
    • Advise/update the procurement review committee on emerging issues/trends on procurement.
    • Receiving and compiling approved requisitions from user departments to facilitate commencement of the procurement process.
    • Ensure that invoices are properly supported before any payment consideration.
    • Preparing purchase orders and expediting the delivery of goods/services.
    • Receiving and processing suppliers’ invoices for payment. 

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement/Supply Chain Management or any other relevant, related, and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
    • Five (5) years of experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar position.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
    • Hands on experience with ERPs with embedded procurement module
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
    • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
    • Supervisory and management experience.
    • High regard for confidentiality and integrity. 
    • Ability to work efficiently in a strict deadline-driven environment
    • Preferred – Experience in WB or other development partners procurement and finance experience

    Job Summary

    To provide strategic and technical leadership in the design, development, and implementation of inclusive insurance solutions aimed at increasing access to insurance for underserved and low-income populations. The role is central to ZEP-RE’s mission of promoting financial inclusion and resilience in the COMESA region by fostering partnerships, driving innovation, and supporting sustainable product development.

    Job Details

    • Lead the strategic planning, technical design, and execution of ZEP-RE’s inclusive insurance initiatives. 
    • Identify and develop innovative partnerships, business models, and distribution channels that expand access to inclusive insurance products. 
    • Conduct market diagnostics and feasibility studies to inform product design and delivery mechanisms. 
    • Lead the development, pricing, pilot testing, and refinement of inclusive insurance products targeting low-income, informal, or vulnerable populations. 
    • Manage technical specifications, partner frameworks, and project implementation cycles across multiple countries. 
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with implementing partners, insurers, regulators, and donor agencies to support ecosystem development and resource mobilization. 
    • Provide technical input into underwriting practices and performance monitoring of inclusive insurance portfolios. 
    • Lead the preparation of technical reports, budgets, strategy documents, and results-based progress reports. 
    • Represent ZEP-RE in regional and global forums, media engagements, and public platforms to promote inclusive insurance, including thought leadership via articles, blogs, and social media. 
    • Oversee the development of marketing materials, advocacy content, and learning resources that build awareness and capacity among stakeholders.
    • Serve as the key liaison with donor organizations on project design, funding proposals, implementation progress, and impact evaluation.
    • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing, team mentorship, and strengthening ZEP-RE’s inclusive insurance capabilities.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Microinsurance, Development Finance, Financial Inclusion, Social Protection, Economics, or a related field.
    • Certification or formal training in microinsurance, inclusive finance, or development economics will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressively experience in inclusive/micro insurance, product development, pricing, and program management, preferably in a developing country context.
    • Strong track record of leading product design, pilot testing, and scaling initiatives focused on financial inclusion.
    • Proven experience managing multi-stakeholder projects involving government, private sector, NGOs/CSOs, or international organizations.
    • Experience in engaging with donor agencies and writing grant proposals, reports, and strategic documents.
    • Familiarity with results-based management, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and impact measurement.
    • Experience in managing and mentoring multidisciplinary teams
