The main purpose of this position is to undertake and complete a course of study and work that leads to a company recognized qualification and accreditation within their stipulated discipline; these are normally nationally recognized qualifications, but only where available. The successful candidate must be technically competent to apply the required skills within a team environment to secure the qualification.
Responsibilities
- Safety- He/she will receive thorough on boarding at the start of their tenure to ensure they can operate safely in their immediate working environment. Safety training must then continuously evolve to match the Graduate Assistant’s’ growth in ability and increased exposure to new techniques and environments.
- Environment – The Graduate Assistant will be briefed and trained as to the role they can play in reducing costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials. After training, he/she will be expected to actively contribute to an eco-efficient environment.
- Risk Assessment- Support to review existing risk assessments around Maintenance work by developing SMPs where necessary and improving existing documentation.
- Continuous improvement – Drive kaizen capturing, initiation and execution to improve plant reliability and productivity.
- Ensure zero machine, electrical and process related incidents.
- Develop full knowledge of the workplace and hazards within it. They are to be trained to utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment relevant to the tasks in their area.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical, Electrical and Mechatronic or related field of study.
- IT Skills –Must be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word programmes.
- A high level of motivation and personal discipline.
- The ability to work as a team member and possess good interpersonal, communication and literacy skills.
- Ability to work with efficiency, accuracy and to be able to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to prioritize workload and work under own initiative.

This position is responsible for maximizing uptime for customer’s vehicles and at optimal costs.
Responsibilities
- Book all due vehicles for service and share daily report with Service centre supervisor for tracking.
- Share the developed database with supervisor and update it monthly.
- Compile and present a weekly report of all customers contacted for management tracking.
- In liaison with service centre supervisor, execute the issuance of new service and repair quotations requests on time and upsell by following up with the customer.
- Track all the new quotations issued and conversion rate and provide a daily tracking report for management oversight.
- Deploy customer reception best practices by capturing all the critical data and information of the vehicle during receiving and fully documenting through the receiving memo and job card process as per the procedure.
- Explain to the customer any new offers or on-going marketing promotions and seek acceptance for any offers.
- Ensure the vehicle is prepared with all safety precautionary requirements before being driven to the workshop.
- Communicate to the customer the promise time as per the service time guide and provide real-time update for any changes to the promise time and job scope.
- Deploy customer vehicle handover best practices by explaining the job done to the vehicle, provide and show the replaced parts and book the customer for the next service.
- Conduct a daily post-service vehicles review to establish those that are yet to be paid for and collected. Make reminder calls to the customers and provide a daily status update.
- Execute the role in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Automotive Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related disciplines.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a similar role
