Position Summary: 

The Marketing Head, Programmes will lead the strategic planning and execution of partnership marketing initiatives across our pan-African group of businesses. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of marketing strategies and tactics aligned with partnership mandates, fostering alignment and collaboration across diverse markets.

Working closely with local marketing managers and teams, the Marketing Head, Programmes, will drive consistency and excellence in partnership marketing execution while tailoring approaches to suit regional nuances. This role also involves contributing to acquiring new partnership deals by providing marketing expertise and support in proposal development and negotiations.

Additionally, the position requires ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on partnership marketing activities to ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. As a key contributor to our organisation’s success, this role demands a proactive leader with strong strategic, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills and a deep understanding of pan-African markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement marketing strategies that align with partnership mandates and organisational goals.
  • Work closely with local marketing managers to ensure consistent and effective execution across all markets.
  • Tailor marketing strategies and tactics to fit different regions' unique needs and dynamics.
  • Oversee the planning, executing, and optimising of marketing campaigns for partnership programmes.
  • Contribute to acquiring new partnerships by providing marketing expertise during negotiations and proposal development.
  • Track the performance of partnership marketing activities against KPIs to ensure effectiveness and alignment with goals.
  • Provide regular, comprehensive reports on partnership marketing activities to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, ensuring alignment and satisfaction with marketing initiatives.
  • Drive consistency and excellence in partnership marketing by introducing and maintaining best practices across the organisation.
  • Promote collaboration and synchrony between cross-functional and regional teams to enhance overall impact.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in managing partnership marketing initiatives and delivering on complex mandates.
  • Strong ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams across multiple regions.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing marketing strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
  • In-depth understanding of pan-African markets, customer behaviours, and cultural nuances.
  • Exceptional ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple partnership initiatives simultaneously.
  • Expertise in monitoring, evaluating, and reporting marketing performance against KPIs.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with partners and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to tailor strategies to diverse markets while maintaining consistency across brands.
