    THE OPPORTUNITY

    • The MEL department rigorously focuses on enhancing our evidencebased approach to grantmaking, innovation and learning. We build on the Programs team’s culture and systems of evidence generation to systematically measure the impact of our investments. The Senior Associate, MEL will work with the Senior Associate Director, MEL alongside the rest of the MEL team to improve the organization’s data management capabilities thus strengthening its ability to conduct crossfund analyses, prepare detailed proposals for future investment, and better measure the impact that the organization is having on the NTD burden globally.
    • The Senior Associate, MEL will primarily be responsible for the provision of M&E support to a range of activities including supporting strengthening of internal M&E systems. This constitutes the management and analysis of districtlevel data shared by implementing partners, including ministries of health, the strengthening of data reporting processes in identifying recurring errors in data submissions, and coordination with the wider Programs Team to ensure the contextualisation of results and the application of learnings to routine/recurring program data flows. 
    • Furthermore, the Senior Associate, MEL will be responsible for crossdepartmental coordination during key reporting cycles, ensuring that verified data are reported in a timely, accurate and standardized manner.
    • This position constitutes a learning opportunity for the Senior Associate, MEL through which continuous support will be provided by the wider MEL team. The END Fund, and MEL team more specifically, fosters a learning environment in which the collective knowledge and expertise of team members is shared and leveraged to provide a platform through which staff can grow and evolve their area(s) of expertise. Simultaneously, it will be important for the Senior Associate, MEL to be able to work independently with minimal oversight.
    • This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports. This role is remote in nature, working as part of a distributed team that communicates regularly via Zoom and Slack with opportunities to connect with other team members inperson.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES

    • Data management and analysis
    • Conduct regular quantitative and qualitative data analyses on baselines, targets and performance to assess program impact, inform ongoing program implementation and contribute to organizational targets.
    • Liaise regularly with Program colleagues to ensure M&E requirements are understood, completed, and submitted in a timely manner, and provide support to staff members to ensure highquality data collection and reporting.
    • Conduct internal data audits, with high attention to detail and with support from the wider MEL team to ensure the quality and standardisation of all data used by the END Fund to measure the impact of the organization.
    • Propose and implement new analyses depending on project needs; identify methods to strengthen M&E processes.
    • Review findings from data analysis and final reports developed by implementing partners to verify coherence and provide programmatic recommendations, and conduct additional dataset analysis as required.
    • Any other activities as requested by the Senior Associate Director, MEL
    • Conceptualization and development of MEL tools and activities
    • Aid the development and maintenance of adhoc MEL tools to compile, analyse and report the fund’s data and progress, including epidemiological, coverage and impact survey data
    • Contribute to the enhancement of systems and procedures for continuous functional improvement
    • Coordination and collaboration
    • Coordinate review and submission of programmatic data for Board meeting materials on a quarterly basis working collaboratively with the Executive Office team as well as Strategy & Operations team.
    • Ensure that crossdepartmental coordination efforts result in the submission and eventual reporting of data metrics in a timely, accurate and standardized manner over time.
    • Contribute to the learning environment fostered by the MEL team by disseminating best practices as they evolve.
    • Correspond directly with implementing partners, as required by the program team
    • Be willing to travel globally with a focus on Africa

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field is required
    • Master’s Degree in a field related to public health, M&E, biostatics, epidemiology or another related discipline is desirable
    • Experience in using Excel, R or other data analysis / statistical packages
    • Experience in using DHIS2 or other data management solutions is desirable
    • Proficiency in data cleaning, merging and analysis of programmatic datasets with varying architectures and from different data systems
    • Ability to problem solve and develop innovative and automatable solutions to recurring challenges
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (French verbal and written skills would be desirable, but are not required)
    • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical capabilities
    • Ability to work as part of a team
    • Ability to work independently using own initiative
    • Passion for and commitment to the END Fund's humanitarian mission
