    About the Role:

    F4E is expanding rapidly to reach more schools across Kenya. The Community Associate plays a pivotal role in driving the growth of F4E in new schools and communities across Kenya. You will own relationships with key stakeholders, including head teachers, Board of Management (BoM) members, sub-county government officials, and other relevant local stakeholders. You will work closely with the operations team to ensure efficient use of kitchen capacity, manage new school launches, and support the development of F4E-community projects. This role requires a strategic thinker, relationship-builder, and proactive problem-solver committed to improving school feeding programs in underserved areas.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Stakeholder Relationship Management:

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationship metrics with the sub-county stakeholders such as the Sub-County Director of Education, Teachers Service Commission, Sub-County Quality Assurance Officers, OCPDs and police commandant, the area chief, office of the member of parliament, public health offices,  and any other key sub-county stakeholders, to ensure smooth operations for F4E's entry into new regions while observing timelines, and key deliverables.
    • Build and nurture relationships with key government officials at the Sub-county levels to increase awareness and support for F4E’s mission and initiatives.

    Growth  and Capacity Management:

    • Work closely with the operations team to identify and allocate spare kitchen capacity to new schools, ensuring efficient and timely scaling of services.
    • Develop and maintain a pipeline of high-potential schools to be served as kitchen capacity becomes available.
    • Oversee the logistical and operational aspects of launching F4E’s services in new regions, ensuring successful implementation.

    Project and Partnership Development:

    • Lead the launch of new F4E-community projects aimed at enhancing the well-being of students and promoting community engagement.
    • Identify and support new market surveys and research efforts to assess growth opportunities in targeted counties and sub-counties.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate potential school partnerships and ensure F4E’s solutions meet the specific needs of local communities.

    Policy & Advocacy Support:

    • Contribute to the delivery of the Policy & Partnerships strategy, focusing on local government relations at the Sub-county and County levels.
    • Advocate for increased support for F4E’s initiatives through strategic engagement with government officials, local leaders, and other key decision-makers.
    • Help in enforcing regulatory compliance within the communities and schools that we operate in.

    Key Qualifications:

    • Education: A bachelor's degree or a diploma in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. 
    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, or public sector relations, preferably in the education, development, or NGO sectors.

    Skills:

    • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, school administrators, and community leaders.
    • Strong project management skills with experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
    • Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for growth and improvement in community relations and school partnerships.

    Field Program Officer

    Position Overview:

    The Field Program Officer will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations across 11  kitchens within their region. Reporting to the Program Support Officer, the Field Program Officer will ensure that kitchens adhere to operational standards, collect and report key data, and support kitchen staff in achieving daily meal targets. This role requires regular field visits, close interaction with kitchen teams, and timely resolution of operational issues.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensuring production centers are opened at the specified time across the different regions.
    • Monitor and enforce staff member adherence to standard operating procedures.
    • Reviewing the daily projections and guiding the cooks to ensure minimal wastage.
    • Ensure cooks record quantities of the raw ingredients used daily , track energy and water consumption per center.
    • Ensuring meals ( uji and food) are prepared daily according to the procedures set.
    • Ensure all the reports are shared daily with the program analyst latest by noon each day
    • Record and monitor consumption of raw ingredients and consumables to ensure that centers do not run out of ingredients
    • Coordinate the distribution of supplies and equipment to schools, ensuring accurate documentation and asset maintenance.
    • Monitor the utilization of AppSheet for stock management, monitor daily projections and consumption by the cooks, and ensure data is accurate and promptly updated.
    • Carry out monthly stock takes in their respective centers of designation for operations and finance reconciliations
    • Conduct regular spot checks at designated kitchens and schools to uphold operational standards, identify areas for improvement, and resolve deviations promptly.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure program synergy and optimization.
    • Conduct training, refresher courses, and mentorship activities for kitchen staff on data accuracy and operational excellence.
    • Organize community engagement sessions in collaboration with the community team to foster support for the School Feeding Programme.
    • Escalate any issues arising in a timely manner and follow up on resolutions in assigned production centers and schools.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

    Desired Candidate Profile:

    • Diploma or Certificate in Data, Project Management, Business, Food and Nutrition, or a related field.
    • At least one year of work experience in any sector.
    • Proficiency in data management and familiarity with tools like MS Excel.

    Position Overview:

    The Warehousing and Inventory Analyst is responsible for managing the inventory of cooking perishable and non-perishable goods used in the Kitchens located in Murang’a, Nyeri and Uasin Gishu Counties. The role involves ensuring accurate tracking, monitoring stock levels, conducting regular inventory audits, and optimising stock management processes to ensure smooth and timely supply distribution to the kitchens and warehouses (Dukas). The Analyst will collaborate with various teams, including supply chain, logistics, field teams and kitchen staff, to maintain efficient warehousing operations and ensure an uninterrupted feeding schedule across the 3 counties.

    • Conduct regular stock audits and physical counts to reconcile inventory levels with system records.
    • Investigate discrepancies in stock levels and recommend corrective measures to avoid future inconsistencies.
    • Prepare and share periodic inventory reports with management, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
    • Ensure the AppSheet (or any other stock management tool) is accurately updated with real-time inventory data, and monitor its usage for data consistency.
    • Train warehouse staff on data entry protocols and best practices for maintaining accurate records.
    • Collaborate with kitchen staff to track the consumption of ingredients and identify usage trends for forecasting.
