About the Role
- Reporting to the payroll specialist, the coordinator, payroll coordinator, and reward management will implement payroll processes at Tupande. As the go-to expert in matters payroll and compensation, you will ensure precise and compliant payroll execution while seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency. You will work with different stakeholders to align Tupande\'s payroll practices with organizational objectives and help improve overall payroll operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate processing of payroll for Tupande employees, including calculating salaries, allowances, and statutory deductions
- Prepare and submit statutory deductions including PAYE, NSSF, and NHIF to the relevant government authorities
- Prepare periodic payroll summaries and reports for management review
- Provide guidance to employees on payroll-related matters including answering queries about their pay
- Prepare required documentation and reports for financial audits and regulatory compliance checks

About the Role
- You will oversee One Acre Fund\'s bustling warehouse operations at 1 of 4 locations. You\'ll ensure efficient inventory management, optimizing warehouse processes and leading a motivated team. You will report to the Tupande Warehouse Associate and oversee a team of up to 8 people, with 3 direct reports.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate & stock control in adherence to Tupande inventory management policies
- Oversee stock quality measures to minimize inventory losses.
- Perform regular inventory counts and initiate improvements across each cycle.
Manage Outbound Inventory with Transactional Integrity
- Provide strategic oversight for order processing and distribution, ensuring standard operating procedures expectations are met.
Guarantee Operational Excellence in the Warehouse
- Manage warehouse space to enhance operational efficiency, prevent input mix-ups, and ensure efficient storage of items.
- Direct the allocation of warehouse resources and implement security measures to protect inventory and ensure a safe working environment.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, applying 5-S methodologies to enhance operational workflows.
Workforce Management and Operational Efficiency
- Organize and conduct recruitment and training for warehouse staff to ensure performance targets and adherence to operational standards.
- Oversee the efficient use and maintenance of warehouse resources.
- Foster a collaborative environment and motivate staff to achieve productivity targets.
- Manage petty cash and process payments for casual labor, ensuring all transactions are conducted accurate.
Qualifications

About the Role
- The purpose of the Payroll & Taxes Specialist role at One Acre Fund is to ensure efficient coordination of payroll processing and tax compliance. You will focus on maintaining data accuracy, adhering to regulatory requirements, and enhancing payroll processes to achieve operational excellence. You'll maintain payroll software, coordinate payroll processing in 10 countries and build the capacity of a team of 10+ payroll administrators across Africa. You will report to the Payroll & Taxes Manager on the Global HR team.
Responsibilities
Country payroll coordination
- Knowledge management - design end-to-end payroll process and guide for program country JL1-8 payroll, transfer knowledge through training, maintain a repository of the SOPs
- Troubleshoot systems and tools used to process payroll and enhance them to make sure they’re relevant to current business practices
- Meet with country payroll leads weekly to monitor compliance with the payroll calendar and process, and provide them with technical support on payroll software and tools
Taxes and Statutory Compliance
- Complete monthly tax processing submission for 2 countries and oversee tax submission in 3-4 other countries.
- Further systematize and automate tax submissions wherever this is difficult.
- Support with resolution of historical compliance challenges and internal and external audits.
- Test tax and pay system configuration for 5/10 countries monthly
Technical ownership and maintenance of pay and tax systems
- Payroll software (Sage 300 People) and service providers.
- Helpdesk support - Zendesk and Jira
- Revenue authorities and statutory fund management institutions
Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
- Advanced System Fluency: Proficient in excel (can perform complex functions) on Google Sheets or MS Excel payroll software, and HR databases, with an advantage if experienced in Sage 300 People and SuccessFactors.
- Tax submission platforms relevant to the One Acre Fund program countries
- Understanding of tax and labor laws, and a pulse on developments in tax regulations in one of the One Acre Fund program countries.
- Understanding of data privacy principles
- 2+ years experience as a Finance, payroll or HR information system administrator
- 2+ years experience with payroll software such as Sage 300 People
