Chef/Cook
Reports to: Chef Supervisor/Manager
Location: Fabec Investment Limited-Geita
Fabec Investment Limited, a company specializing in road construction, building construction, and telecommunications, is seeking a Chef/Cook with excellent culinary skills to manage kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of meals with quality standards according to schedules and hygiene standards.
- Ensure proper use of kitchen equipment and minimize food waste.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness in all kitchen areas and sanitar
- Be key personnel with 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
- Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period including water and plates served.
- Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
- Prepares item for broiling, grilling, frying,or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly with good record keeping.
- Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or manageron
Qualifications and Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience as a chef, preferably in a corporate or institutional setting.
- Proficiency in preparing a variety of dishes (traditional and modern).
- Ability to plan efficient meal schedules.
- Possession of a certificate in culinary arts from a recognized institution (an added advantage).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
