We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Asset Custodian to join our Branch in Geita. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure adherence to correct procedures for handling and movement of cash assets within the branch, agencies, Central Bank (BOT), and Bulk Cash operations.
- Serve as custodian for treasury cash, traveller’s cheques, blank forms, safe custody items, securities, duplicate keys, ATM keys, and branch stationery.
- Manage safe custody operations, including logging, revenue recovery, receipt checking, and handling of bank chequebooks and vault lockers.
- Monitor cash trends, order and clear surplus cash, and ensure cash holdings are within prescribed limits.
- Control seals for cash clearance bags and assist with surprise checks of tellers.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant procedures and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (required)
- 5-7 years’ experience in Branch Banking, policies and procedures, and managing a team
- Proven track record in Asset Management and Asset Security
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on Customer Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Banking Processes & Procedures
- Proficiency in Customer Acceptance & Review (Consumer Banking)
- In-depth Product Knowledge (Consumer Banking)
- Demonstrated ability in Risk Identification and mitigation
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in relevant banking software and MS Office applications
- Knowledge of relevant banking regulations and compliance requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to undergo background checks and security clearances as required by the banking industry
