Data Technician

DUTIES:
- Contribute to data management systems (collation, processing and storage) and tools
- Support and develop existing tools and systems used for data capture.
- Respond to ICT support requests from field agents in a timely manner
- Write procedures and software to import/ export data from/to appropriate database systems and share these for further analyses and interpretation
- Implement and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) protocols and routines, including safe and remote back-up of database systems and tools
- Keep up to date with the latest tools and resources, including open-source software, for the collection, management, storage and sharing of information
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of information collected and all relevant data management systems
Requirements
- At least BSc in Computer programming/science
- Experience in writing and maintaining Android applications (Highly desirable)
- Experience in writing and maintaining API endpoints (Symfony framework)
- Experience of data management for research projects, particularly biological and agricultural topics
- Experience of ODK/ONA
- Use of Github or other version control system
