Position: DCS Engineer-Trainee

Key Responsibilities
- Shift operation management in a thermal power generation unit.
- Planning and execution of shift operational activities.
- Troubleshooting operational problems faced in shift and actions taken to resolve them.
- Load management planning and stoppage drives of the plant.
- Routine checks after taking charge of the shift, including operation and reporting.
- Coordinating with field operators and completing small maintenance-related tasks during shifts.
- Monitoring and ensuring environmental compliance in shifts for plant operations.
- Monitoring and controlling safe operation of the entire power plant and utilities, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the cement plant as per load requirements.
- Handling emergency situations in Boiler & Turbine operations, reducing stoppage of connected load main drives due to operational issues.
- Monitoring Coal Bunker level, Fly Ash/Bed Ash Silo level, and Raw Water Tank level regularly during shifts, taking corrective action as needed.
- Completing all log sheets (daily), maintaining and updating the shift logbook with critical parameters and main activities carried out in shift, and noting pending tasks.
- Noting hourly changes made in the operation of all equipment (if any or after operational disturbances, such as sudden load throw-off).
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of combined field experience in operation of DCS panel and Boiler/Steam Turbines and maintenance of the same.
- Experience in coal-based thermal power plants with AFBC boiler is desirable.
