Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and analytical Director of Finance to join our dynamic team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a key member of our executive leadership, you will play a crucial role in shaping our financial strategy and driving our organization's growth.
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to support the company's short-term and long-term objectives
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights to guide strategic decision-making
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and financial reporting functions
- Analyze financial data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards
- Manage relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and other financial stakeholders
- Implement and maintain robust financial systems and controls to safeguard company assets
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with other department heads to align financial objectives with overall business goals
- Present financial reports and recommendations to the board of directors and senior management
Qualifications
- Proven track record with 8-10 years of experience as a Director of Finance or in a similar senior financial leadership role
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and best practices, with a focus on international operations
- Strong understanding of Kenyan financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and advanced financial management software
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a diverse finance team
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effectively collaborating with stakeholders at all levels
- Analytical mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving and decision-making
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred
- Fluency in English or other local languages is a plus
