Reporting to: Process Plant Engineer
Duration: Permanent
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Equipment Monitoring:
- Follow all documented Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures, and ensure safe working environment; every person going home safe and healthy every day.
- Ensure all Electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and procedures among the maintenance team.
- Maintenance Oversight: Plan and execute maintenance schedules for all equipment within the process plant, filtration, & Paste, including crushers, conveyors, pumps, and other machinery, to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Inventory Control: Oversee the inventory of spare parts and equipment required for maintenance, ensuring the availability of critical spares.
- Implement work safety procedures in compliance with the plant SOP.
- Monitoring and control of critical stoppages and incidents resulting in reducing production and execution of appropriate action plans to ensure reoccurrence is prevented.
- Effective and efficient allocation of maintenance resources as measured by schedule compliance, PM compliance, planned vs. unplanned work, and the ongoing management of backlogs.
- Plan and execute electrical and instrumentation projects, including equipment upgrades, replacements, and new installations.
- Plan and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies and techniques to ensure that the Plant Asset condition is maintained at a high standard and in compliance with the plant SOP.
- Plan and execute the service and major plant shutdowns as per the yearly outage plan.
- Proactively develop quality systems, approaches, and practices as needed.
- Ensure that all daily, weekly, and monthly reports are completed as per the standard.
- Preparation of the annual budget and management and implementation of continuous improvement and cost control
- Identify training needs within the team and develop a training plan in conjunction with Supervisors and the training department.
- Create a working environment that ensures team members gain new skills and achieve their full potential by developing and implementing effective training and mentoring programs.
- Ensure deployment of key initiatives and communication of relevant messages to team members and all other relevant parties.
- Ensure that all safety incidents are reported and investigated according to procedures and on time.
- Able to stand on supervisory role act as Maintenance Superintendent.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or any other related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience with mining-related electrical and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, DCS, VFDs, and motor controls
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong technical knowledge of Electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment used in mining process plants.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in the mining industry.
