    Job Purpose

    The Key and Vulnerable populations program Field officer is responsible for overall coordination of community level activities targeting all typologies as well as acting as the link between the community and clinical services in the health facilities and the Drop-in Centre.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinating project supported community mobilization activities for HIV prevention and treatment services including planning for comprehensive outreaches working closely with the peerled CSOs and county KVP focal person.
    • Facilitation of health education sessions for KVP in small groups or one on one at the community and various KVP friendly facilities.
    • In liaison with community members or KVP-led CSOs where applicable, support in identification and management of Peer Educators, Outreach Workers and various health promotion volunteers
    • Provide continuous mentorship and support supervision to community volunteers supporting the project
    • Planning and coordination of monthly peer educator review/planning meetings.
    • Continuously identify knowledge gaps among community volunteers for sensitizations and refresher trainings.
    • Coordinate hotspot validation and mapping to inform programming
    • Support and oversee timely completion of the various microplanning tools by community volunteers
    • Support peer educators and outreach workers in following up and documentation of inactive key and vulnerable populations at community level
    • Support in handling community level project financial support in line with LVCT applicable policies
    • Through guidance from the project KVP technical lead, represent the project in various stakeholder meetings within the county
    • Actively support collection of community feedback through Focus Group discussions, suggestion boxes, community advisory board and client exit interviews
    • Compile and submit regular and ad hoc community level monthly reports to the county and the project
    • Participate in various quality improvement activities at facility level

    Required Qualification

    • Diploma in social work or community development
    • Training on Key & vulnerable populations guidelines and provision of Stigma free servicesisrequired
    • Should have at least 2 years relevant work experience in KVP DICEs and HIV related programs in Central region
    • Well versed with community level activities for Key and vulnerable populations
    • Exhibit good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Training on HIV testing services and mental health is an added advantage
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team management and patient engagement.
    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities to address clinical and operational issues.
    • Exceptional time management and organizational skills to meet operational demands.
