SUMMARY

Oversees all aspects of food manufacturing, ensuring efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities;

- Production Management: Overseeing all aspects of food production, from sourcing raw materials to final product delivery. Being in charge of the different product lines. Setting the production schedules and timeliness;

- Team Leadership: Hiring, training, and managing a team of production workers. Supporting the HR department in recruiting an optimum number of staff; ensuring proper induction and on job training.

- Quality Control: Ensuring food products meet quality standards and comply with relevant regulations. Setting quality standards and KPIS’ for all the products, from raw materials quality standards and the finished goods

- Food Safety and audits compliance: Implementing and maintaining safety protocols in the production environment. Supporting the implementation of food safety standards. Training of the staff on the same. Taking part in external audits.

- Production Planning: Developing and implementing production schedules and plans to meet demand and the seasonality of the raw materials.

- Inventory Management: Managing raw materials, packaging, and finished goods inventory. Liaising with the procurement and inventories departments to ensure the compliance of suppliers, especially on the raw materials quality; quality of the production aides, including packaging materials, nitrogen. Timely supply of the items to reduce production downtimes.

- Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.

- Reporting: Preparing reports on production performance and quality control.

- Cost Control: Monitoring and managing production costs to ensure profitability. Monitored the production process and adjusting schedules as needed.

- Vendor Relations: Collaborating with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of raw materials and packaging.

- Reporting: Preparing reports on production performance and quality control.

- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.

Minimum requirement/qualifications;

- Degree/Diploma in food production/food science and Technology

- Food safety qualification/experience is an added advantage (Preferably BRC/IFS/FSSC 22000)

- Quality Assurance experience in food manufacturing is an added advantage

- Fluent in Kiswahili and English

- Computer literacy

- Minimum of 5 years of experience
