Health Safety, Security and Environment Officer – 1 Posts
Job Purpose:
To develop, implement, and oversee health, safety, security, and environmental strategies, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and the promotion of a safe and sustainable workplace.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HSSE policies and procedures: Establish and enforce standards to ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits: Identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and implement measures to mitigate them.
- Ensure regulatory compliance: Monitor adherence to local, national, and international HSSE laws and standards.
- Promote a safety culture. Foster awareness and accountability for safety and sustainability across the organization.
- Oversee incident investigation and reporting. Investigate workplace incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Train and educate employees. Organize training programs on HSSE protocols, emergency procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor environmental impact. Develop initiatives to reduce waste, pollution, and energy consumption to support sustainability goals.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness. Develop and test emergency response plans to handle crises effectively.
- Manage security protocols. Ensure the safety and security of personnel, assets, and facilities.
- Report on HSSE performance. Provide regular updates to senior management, highlighting achievements, risks, and areas for improvement.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Academic: Bachelors in any field of Environment (Science, Engineering)
Professional: Certificate of risk Assessment and NOSHIC I
∙Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience.
