Job ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Finance Officer will work primarily to ensure that Heritage Insurance complies with all tax-related obligations and maintains robust financial controls. Key responsibilities include:
- Tax Compliance: Manage and ensure compliance with Tanzanian tax laws, including filing and payment of various returns like VAT, payroll tax, premium levy, and city service levy.
- Coordination with Authorities: Act as the primary liaison with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and other tax authorities. This includes coordinating tax audits and working with external tax consultants.
- Reporting and Reconciliation: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, conduct balance sheet reconciliation, and verify financial records for accuracy.
- Financial Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial integrity, ensuring all statutory obligations are met promptly.
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field.
- Professional Certification: CPA or ACCA certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant work experience, with practical knowledge in tax administration and statutory compliance.
- Additional Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial management.
