Job Description
On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced HSE Officer. This role is essential in ensuring the company maintains high standards for health, safety, and environmental compliance, while fostering a proactive safety culture. The HSE Officer will oversee HSE policies, risk assessments, audits, and training to minimize risks and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement HSE Policies: Establish and maintain policies that promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Conduct Risk Assessments and Audits: Lead site inspections, risk assessments, and internal audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and identify areas for improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor HSE regulations, ensuring all company activities comply with legal and industry standards.
- Training & Education: Develop and deliver HSE training programs to increase awareness and understanding of safety protocols across all levels of the organization.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting: Oversee investigations of HSE incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Data Collection and Reporting: Track and report HSE performance metrics, analyzing trends and providing regular updates to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of local and international HSE regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 14001)
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
- Certification in HSE management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is an asset
