OverviewInternship Program Overview
The Intern will be able to learn and understand Tanzania context policies and guideline that guides
implementation of Family Planning interventions including applicability of High Impact Family Planning
practices. Intern will then collaborate with regional Family Planning team to translate the approved PY4
workplan to field level-to address the high unmet need for FP in Tabora region.
Reports to: Senior Advisor – Family Planning
Mentor: Senior Technical Officer – Family Planning
Location: Tabora
This position will be closed on January 20, 2025
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
- Participate in regional FP data review-to learn and understand the FP performance
- Learn, understand and apply High Impact Family Planning Practices applicable to FP programming in Tabora including Post-Partum Family Planning (scale up number of health facilities offering PPFP)
- Participate in monthly activity planning with Regional and Council Health Management teams.
- Participate, learn and coordinate all field supported activities such integrated FP outreach, FP special service days, FP/immunization integration, VHNDs and Youth led outreach events
- Plan and share feedback to R/DRCHCOs (RHMT & CHMT) on status of FP activity implementation, share gaps and develop action plan
Qualifications and Requirements
- Recent graduate with bachelor’s degree in medicine or Nurse-midwife.
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili both written and spoken.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, excel and power point.
- Good analytical and report- writing skills
- Self-motivated, proactive and have a positive attitude to work requiring minimum supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills and teamwork
