Responsibilities
People Management
- Resource Allocation: Responsible for resource allocation of staff to projects, ensuring project teams have the right mix of skill levels needed for success, including managing staff leave and backups.
- Professional Development: Help team members achieve their full potential, by creating, monitoring, and supporting professional development plans, including skills assessments. Onboard new team members.
- Performance management: Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback to staff, and link development needs with resources for professional development.
- Financial oversight: Provide oversight for financial performance of projects.
Project Leadership
Lead selected projects end-to-end. Projects include CATI, CAPI, Web, and SMS projects for international development, social sector, and commercial projects. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring timely and on-budget completion of deliverables aligned to the scope of work
- Project management, including overseeing technical staff, managing data collection subcontractors, client communication, and managing financials, schedule, quality, and risk
- Client communication, engagement, and feedback
- Conduct and oversee staff with technical tasks, including questionnaire development, training, data collection, quality control, data management, and reporting.
Internal Initiatives
Lead cross-cutting initiatives to enhance GeoPoll’s capabilities, quality, and efficiency, such as identifying opportunities for automation of tasks or operation or enhancing technical quality of work. Identify these cross-cutting initiatives, develop plans, oversee initiatives, roll out initiatives, monitor, and refine.
Project and Proposal Support
- Provide technical support to project teams as needed, particularly regarding questionnaire development, training, data collection, quality control, data, and reporting.
- Support GeoPoll’s business development team by providing technical inputs into selected proposals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or similar field is required. An advanced degree is preferable.
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in survey research roles, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience serving in a people management role.
- People management: Demonstrated experience serving as an administrative supervisor, including coaching, mentoring, providing feedback, problem solving, and actively supporting professional development.
- Project management: Demonstrated experience managing survey research projects, including overseeing technical staff, managing data collection subcontractors, client communication, and managing financials, schedule, quality, and risk.
- Technical skills: Experience with all tasks in the survey lifecycle, including questionnaire development, training, data collection, quality control, data management, data analysis, and reporting. A successful candidate will be familiar with all of these tasks, and have expertise in several of these tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Facilitating continuous growth of the GeoPoll business pipeline by actively prospecting for new clients and nurturing existing relationships.
- Identifying and pursuing commercial research procurement opportunities (under contracts and grants) through partnerships with for-profit and non-profit organizations.
- Translating ongoing research studies into new business opportunities by demonstrating to clients how GeoPoll can solve their most challenging problems.
- Networking and sharing information about GeoPoll’s country, regional, and global research efforts to build the organization’s reputation and brand in the region. Preparing and submitting proposals, PowerPoint presentation with marketing teams, pricing, and service agreements for clients and partners, including conducting analysis for compliance and procurement considerations.
- Providing client-facing training, support, and education of the GeoPoll Audience Measurement subscription product as needed in coordination with the Client Service team.
- Representing the GeoPoll local office and supporting administrative responsibilities in coordination with the Regional Director Eastern Africa, Finance, and Legal Teams.
- Coordinating with GeoPoll support teams, including Operations, Program Management, Finance, and Regional Representatives, to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Some travel to international offices, client locations, and conferences may be required.
Qualifications (must-haves)
- BA/BS degree in Business, International Relations, or related field
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 3 – 4 years’ business development and sales experience.
- Demonstrated success in building a pipeline and selling research work in Africa
- Strong understanding of the research industry in Kenya and most parts of the African region.
- Should possess & demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
- Should be highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and meet deadlines.
- In-depth experience using Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, PowerPoint, Teams, & Excel.
- Ability to build, maintain, and grow client relationships and extensive experience interacting with different stakeholders in both professional and social settings.
Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-haves)
- MA/MS degree in Business, International Relations, or related field
- +2 years of experience in market research, with a strong background in client-facing roles as an added advantage.

- Client Engagement: Foster relationships with targeted clients to promote GeoPoll’s services, identify opportunities for upselling, and ensure the maintenance of strong, long-term partnerships.
- Proposal Management: Support the preparation and submission of proposals, pricing strategies, and service agreements
- Coordinate with GeoPoll support teams including Operations, Program Management, Finance, and regional representatives

- Attend internal and external events and conferences to collect information and network.
Qualifications (required)
- BA/BS degree in Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience on a business development team supporting international development clients in Global & Public health, Agriculture and Food security, Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning, Relief, Climate change, Gender, Financial inclusion and Governance
- 4+ years of experience in Social Research, with a strong background in client-facing roles as an added advantage.
- Understanding of qualitative and quantitative research and mobile data collection methodologies.End to end proposal development experience, from preparing to pitching for business.In-depth experience using Microsoft Office products that include MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and online searching capabilities
- Solution oriented. Proven track record of thinking out of the box to deliver solutions to internal or external stakeholders
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment, teams from different countries and cultures.
