The Key Purpose of this role is to oversee equipment operation, ensure process efficiency, and maintain high-quality production standards. This role involves managing packaging machinery, troubleshooting performance issues, handling administrative tasks, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Key Roles and Responsibilities:

 

Operate Packaging Equipment & Manage Processes

  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Implement production plans and maintain process efficiency.
  • Operate both manual and automated machinery per set standards.
  • Monitor production trends and take corrective action when needed.
  • Maintain high levels of process quality and productivity.

 

Perform Administrative Duties

  • Track and monitor production data, completing necessary reports.
  • Maintain workstation and team room documentation.
  • Engage in self-development and skill enhancement initiatives.

 

Problem Solving & Process Improvement

  • Monitor and analyse process data to identify inefficiencies.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving methods (QFRs, 5 WHYs) to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with the team to optimize machine performance and report findings.

 

Autonomous Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct autonomous maintenance to ensure smooth machine functionality.
  • Take ownership of machine performance, implementing preventive measures.

 

Key Attributes and Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy production environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma (Electrical)
  • Technical qualification (N3 or similar)
  • Experience operating and maintaining packaging machinery.
  • 9 months on the job training, SKAP completed
  • Completed SKAP within 12 months
