1. Nurse Aide Position

The Nurse Aide plays a vital role in supporting nursing staff and ensuring patient care is delivered efficiently and compassionately.

  • Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Certificate in Nursing and Midwifery, a foundational qualification for assisting in various patient care tasks and supporting the nursing team.
  • Registration: Applicants are required to be registered under the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council (TNMC), ensuring that they meet the professional standards required by Tanzanian law.
  • Experience: Prior experience as a Nurse Aide, or in a similar healthcare role, is essential. This experience helps candidates effectively adapt to the unique challenges of working in refugee camps, where resources and time are often limited.

Languages: Proficiency in both English and Swahili is required to communicate with patients and staff effectively. Knowledge of additional languages, such as Kirundi and French, is a plus, as these languages are commonly spoken by the refugee population in Nduta.

2. Midwife Position

MSF seeks qualified midwives to provide critical support to pregnant women and newborns, ensuring safe delivery practices and comprehensive maternal healthcare.

  • Qualifications: A Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery is required, with a Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery being preferred. These qualifications equip midwives with the skills needed to manage prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care.
  • Registration: Midwives must be registered and legally permitted to practice under the TNMC, which ensures they meet Tanzanian healthcare standards.
  • Experience: MSF requires candidates to have at least two years of experience in midwifery. This experience helps midwives handle a range of maternal health issues, often without access to advanced medical facilities.
