We are looking for active and qualified individuals to fill the following roles:
Medical Sales Representative: 3 Positions: Based in Dar es Salaam & Arusha
Job type: Full-time
Role Purpose:
Reporting to Commercial Sales Manager, the main responsibility of the Medical Sales Representatives will be to use their knowledge of MST’s products to connect with Distributors and Consumers and generate sales for MST. Their duties will include developing sales pitches to sell MST’s products for both Primary Sales to Key Distributors and Secondary Sales to Wholesalers and Retail Traders, making cold calls to sales leads and/or taking calls from prospective customers and maintaining documentation of their sales like invoices, client contracts and debt collection, and credit management. The position involves field market work and extensive travel within assigned territories and outside (75%).
Among the Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and medical detailing including training and promoting Marie Stopes Tanzania range of pharma products to health care providers.
- One on one or/and group meeting detailing highlights of the benefits of Marie Stopes Tanzania Products.
- Building and maintaining strong relationship with healthcare professionals, hospitals, pharmacies, and clinics.
- Identifying potential clients in their territories and with the guidance of the manager plan on the mode of interaction with such and other providers.
- Achieving set targets in their respective assigned territories including debts collection as on due date.
- Making available MST’s products/brands in targeted number of retail outlets in the assigned territories.
- Working closely with key distributors to generate primary sales and assist the distributors in secondary sales (i.e. sales to retail outlets).
- Merchandising and putting up point of sale materials at retail outlets.
- Planning and in some cases conducting CMEs in the respective areas.
- Conducting market research to enable Marie Stopes recognize its Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats, and developing strategies corresponding to the findings to enhance Marie Stopes Tanzania’s competitive advantage.
- Handling Stock Movement, Planning and timely reporting.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Biological/ Biomedical Sciences, or Diploma in Pharmacy/ Clinical Medicine or Nursing from a reputable institution.
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in medical sales, detailing, or a related field (entry-level roles may be available for candidates with strong academic background, experience in FMCG or Pharmaceutical Sales.
- 3 years’ experience with robust pharmaceutical sales and specialization in sales or marketing of health products.
- Proven work experience as a Pharmaceutical Rep or in Medical Sales.
- Familiarity with databases, statistics, product lines and latest medical issues with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical and retail math’s skills are mandatory. Additional training in pharmaceutical marketing and/or FMCG will be an added advantage.
- Ability to use systems and technology for daily sales reporting.
- Significant knowledge in Family planning and pharmaceutical sector.
- Valid driving license with ability & experience to driving long distance.
- Self-motivated, hardworking, and persuasive.
- Quick decision making and highly intelligent with good interpersonal skills.
- Good customer relations & management skills.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of Distributor Relationship Management.
