Reports to: Planning Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Control

• Leads the administration of Production and Planning Control processes within GZI

• Identifies type and quantity of raw materials necessary to complete each

Purchase Order received from customers.

• Ensures the availability of raw materials and resources in line with Purchase

Orders received from customers.

• Liaises with the production team on work scheduling and planning.

• Develops the production plan and schedule in line with the production forecast.

Communicates production plan to the production team.

• Prioritises and sequences work, executing work plans and implementing controls.

• Develops techniques for establishing and controlling scheduling processes.

• Drives continuous improvement of scheduling and sequencing processes.

• Controls and monitors raw material usage/consumption. Escalates instances of wastage or over consumption to relevant departments.

• Monitors the stock of raw materials available to ensure there are no instances of over stocking or understocking, and to ensure sufficient materials are available to meet production forecasts.

• Plans and coordinates material flow from internal and external suppliers to and from facility.

• Develops and executes continuous improvement plans for the control and handling of inventory.

• Ensures the timely posting of production figures to SAP to enable the warehouse department issue waybills.

• Establishes and monitors metrics for PPC system performance management.

• Coordinates, and expedites the flow of work and materials.

• Reviews and compiles reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.

Warehouse Operations

• Ensures that all production materials and items are properly identified (coded, tagged, batched) and accounted for.

• Inspects and verifies all materials received and issued from the warehouse

• Maintains adequate supplies of materials to meet requirements of user departments

• Prepares report on material due for disposal due to obsolescence, damages, expiration or any other reasons.

• Receives and verifies materials from suppliers to ensure they meet specifications before transferring to the appropriate section of the warehouse.

• Carries out timely identification and documentation of stock movements

• Participates in periodic stock taking, checking and control activities and prepares periodic stock report for Manager’s review.

• Monitors the quality of warehouse items on a continuous basis and reports any observations to the Department Head.

• Prepares and submits timely reports to management on all warehouse activities.

• Prepares timely reports and statistics regularly (In/Out status report, dead stock report etc.)

• Receives delivery plans from GZI’s customers and schedules deliveries.

• Coordinates the delivery of cans to customer’s locations and prepares delivery reports

• Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage system.

People Management

• Manages and oversees the PPC unit’s performance through supervision of team performance; Provides constructive feedback to employees to assist with development.

• Supervises the PPC Officer to ensure the quality of work meets with performance expectations.

• Assigns tasks and responsibilities to subordinates to ensure effective workflow

• Reviews/inspects work carried out by reports.

Integrated Management System

• Documents, implements and maintains the requirements of the Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health and Safety management systems.

• Observes all health, safety and hygiene procedures in the warehouse.

• Ensures safe, efficient, receipt, documentation and storage of materials.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of a First Degree in Logistics and Supply chain or a related. discipline

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in a planning role within manufacturing.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in Excel and production planning software.

• Good communication and coordination skills
