Public Relations and Service Development Manager

Purpose:
This individual will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to improve the hospital’s brand positioning and achieve financial and client growth and overall positive corporate image. This role involves building key customer relationships, patient satisfaction, brand awareness and keen identifying business opportunities and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions, which will be aligned with our values as a faith-based facility.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, oversee and coordinate all the operations and activities of the PR and Service Development Department.
- Develop and implement appropriate PR and Service Development strategies in brand awareness and oversee its day-to-day implementation.
- Liaise and network with a range of stakeholders including corporates, customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organizations.
- Onboard new insurance companies, brokers, agents, and private/public company managed medical schemes.
- Drive volume growth in existing partner schemes, SHIF, and uninsured patient traffic across all service lines.
- Lead and coordinate hospital brand awareness campaigns and activities, including digital platforms.
- Monitor competitor activities and provide insights to enhance the hospital’s brand positioning.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to develop and implement new services and packages.
- Develop and execute PR and service development strategies (quarterly, monthly, weekly) with budget proposals.
- Manage and track approved marketing budgets for cost-effective resource use
- Build hospital referral partnerships and networks with specialists, doctors, and general practitioners
- Identify new business opportunities and evaluate ROI on business development initiatives
- Develop and execute customer/partner relationship management strategies
- Build relationships with stakeholders including healthcare providers, payers, and industry partners
- Foster community partnerships and referral networks.
- Oversee execution of weekly and monthly departmental plans and prepare detailed reports for management.
- Mentor and coach the PR and Service Development team to optimize performance.
- Work with PR and Service Development team to create promotional materials and campaigns.
- Manage digital brand awareness efforts, including social media, email campaigns, and website content.
- Organize, coordinate and attend PR and marketing events such as conferences, seminars, exhibitions, medical camps, promotional campaigns, open days, tours and visits, CSR and teambuilding activities.
- Conduct market research, for example using customer questionnaires and advise the management accordingly.
- Prepare programs for building the hospital’s internal and external image and promoting good public image.
- Conduct and chair departmental meetings, attend HODs and other hospital meetings.
- Perform any other duty assigned by the hospital management.
Applicants Qualifications, Experience, Competencies and Attributes
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management /Administration in Marketing or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in PR and Service/business development/marketing, preferably in the healthcare industry / hospital setup in managerial capacity.
- Proficiency in online digital marketing will be added advantage
- Proven track record of driving brand growth and forming strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of the healthcare market, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with market research and analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
