Job SummaryThe Relationship Manager (Public Sector) will be tasked with managing a portfolio of Central Government, Local Government, and Public Institutions clients. The primary objective is to maximize sustainable economic profit by driving business development, cross-selling banking products, and managing risks at both individual and team levels.
Key Responsibilities 1. Customer Sales and Service (65%)Grow Portfolio Value: Achieve growth through cross-selling and up-selling NBC’s diverse banking products and services. Referral Business: Generate referrals from existing customers to expand the portfolio.
Identify Opportunities: Offer solutions tailored to customer needs, goals, and objectives. Sales Execution: Proactively and reactively sell products that meet customer needs. Customer Satisfaction: Achieve high levels of satisfaction by meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
Relationship Building: Maintain regular contact with clients through agreed communication plans and ensure clients’ needs are well understood. Governance and Compliance: Apply compliance and governance procedures in all activities and ensure accurate completion of customer records.
2. Business Management (30%)New Business Development: Conduct market research and follow up on target lists for new business opportunities.
Credit Applications: Prepare and assess credit applications by collaborating with Business Analysts and Operational Bankers. Portfolio Management: Monitor and control portfolio quality using risk management guidelines.
3. People Management (5%)Coaching and Development: Provide day-to-day coaching and mentoring to Business Analysts and Operational Bankers.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Arts (Economics), or an equivalent qualification. At least four (4) years of experience in a customer-facing role, within a sales and service environment.
Experience in building relationships with high-value customers, with 7-10 years of general banking experience.
Preferred Qualifications- MBA/Diploma in Banking or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in corporate or business banking.
- Knowledge in business risk and opportunities.

Technical Skills & CompetenciesStrong relationship management and credit risk skills. Knowledge of corporate banking, along with proficiency in analyzing, planning, and delivering results.
