Job Purpose

The purpose of this job is to sell company products and services to existing customers and potential customers within the territory and target assigned.

In an effort to streamline operations, ELM Microfinance seeks to recruit qualified Sales Officer to be involved in increasing the sales of products and services.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Solicit for new business through direct marketing; setting up appointments to meet new clients; following up on referrals from existing clients
  • Preparing and presenting proposals to promote the ELM Microfinance products, to prospective clients.
  • Carrying out market intelligence to gain an understanding of changes in the market, in consumer needs and to gain information on new entrants (possible opportunities).
  • Meet performance targets for loan portfolio growth and profitability.
  • Preparation all required daily/ weekly/monthly sales reports and submit to your immediate supervisor
  • Promote ELM Microfinance brand and values through excellent customer service and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  • Fully engage in selling of the microfinance products both digital and physical marketing.
  • To make follow-up on Microfinance social media and Advertising activities with a goal of maintaining a favorable image with potential customers, and the public.
  • Door to door visitations to all physical addresses of the respective segments
  • Negotiate with the advertising agencies and Organize events and exhibitions for the promotion of products and capture potential markets
  • Perform all duties to be assigned by the supervisor

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Strong networking and problem-solving skills
  • Must be aware of the market trends, competitors in the market and future threats
  • Expert marketing skills and ability to implement new and innovative marketing strategies
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Excellent customer service knowledge and ability to impart positive customer relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to negotiate with the clients and the advertising agencies
  • Experience in the digital and social media space
  • Experience of working with Microfinance Institutions will be an added advantage
  • Excellent Communication (both written and spoken) in English & Swahili

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of Diploma in Business studies
  • Computer literate
  • Experience in Sales will be an added advantage
