To maintain and continuously develop a robust inventory, cost of sales and cash collections management, accounting and controlling processes and procedures to ensure optimal stock management, accurate merchandise sales accounting and complete audit trail of inventories. Ensure full compliance with IAS 2 requirements and disclosures of Inventories.

Key Responsibilities:  

    • Manage all company merchandises and engineering stocks ensuring a strong management policy including levels of stock holding, reorder levels and safeguarding and control, authorizing credit notes for rebates/ replacements of stocks to dealers.

    • Managing and controlling recharge cards, and electronic airtime including generation, distribution, activation and deactivation.

    • Provide oversight and responsibility over stocks and sales reporting including coordination of stock takes; Impromptu areas and Central Stores stocks inspections.

    • Review and validate and approve all channel Partner commission payments, Kenya Postel collections reimbursement, credit facilities granted and recovery as per facility terms.

    • Provide support to the commercial team in procurement and reorder/replenishment  planning, stock analysis, pricing, deal management  and accounting, including participation in the weekly sales/finance and logistics weekly meeting

    • Ensure all transactions are processed on the basis of adequate support and duly authorized instructions.

    • Prepare and reconcile Channel Partner Statements of Account at the end of the month, for validation with Partners and verification of POS Sales portal.

    • Continually and consistently work on improving and maintaining the control environment in the department by ensuring that the accounting process and procedures adhere to internal control procedures.

    • Conduct on the job training for other staff in the section to ensure continuous performance improvement and for succession planning.

Academic background & Professional Knowledge:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance

    • Certified Accountant – CPA(K) or ACCA or CIMA

    • 3 - 5 years’ experience, preferably in the telecommunications or related industry.

Here Are The Skills We Are Looking For:

    • Detailed knowledge of IAS / IFRS and their application in the Telecommunications space

    • Financial systems knowledge, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting applications 

    • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.

    • Great attention to detail.

    • Excellent people manager with good influencing skills.
