Current Opportunity: Procurement Officer

SHDEPHA+ is seeking a qualified Procurement Officer to join its team in Kahama, Shinyanga. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and resourceful individual passionate about effective supply chain management and procurement.

Position Details
  • Position: Procurement Officer
  • Location: Kahama, Shinyanga
  • Reports to: Finance Manager
  • Contract: 1-year renewable
Job Responsibilities

Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service. Contract Negotiation: Secure advantageous pricing and contract terms for the organization. Department Oversight: Oversee purchasing department activities, including staff supervision.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal teams to understand procurement needs and offer guidance. Order Tracking: Manage the entire procurement process, from order placement to delivery and issue resolution. Supplier Evaluation: Conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure supplier compliance.

Cost Savings: Identify and implement cost-saving measures within procurement. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes align with organizational policies and regulations. Documentation: Maintain detailed records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier agreements.

Candidate Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within an NGO.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with procurement tools and software.
  • Certifications: CPSP (T) or MCIPS certification is an added advantage.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well in teams and build strong supplier relationships.
