Key Responsibilities:
Supplies and Inventory Management
• Maintains inventory of all items in the store.
• Ensures raw materials are available for production as at when due.
• Ensures that supply of inventory is timed to avoid stock-outs whilst maintaining inventory within targets.
• Takes daily stock level to monitor the reorder level of all raw materials and supplies in the store.
• Manages the proper arrangement of the store items and supplies for easy retrieval.
• Manages the release of production items to the plant.
• Recommends disposal of obsolete equipment/ materials in the store.
• Completes spot audits to establish parts tracking procedures are being followed.
Requisition Management
• Raises requisition for materials.
• Facilitates the purchase of new items by creating purchase requests on behalf of user departments and forwards to procurement.
• Follows up with procurement to ensure timely supply of the items.
• Liaises with external suppliers for the delivery of products.
• Takes part in the receipt of supplies from contractors/suppliers and ensures they are in line with specifications.
• Generates Good Receipt Note for incoming and outgoing items.
Record Keeping and Reporting
• Maintains records of goods ordered and received.
• Manages the record keeping processes of all store items for accountability purposes.
• Coordinates the safekeeping of receipts, tenders, invoices and ledgers for all store items.
• Maintains and updates Minimum-Maximum file.
• Responds to auditor’s enquires on any discrepancy discovered during periodic stock count.
• Creates and maintains Materials Master file for use across all areas of the company's business.
• Updates the relevant records in the store to ensure stock level is easily ascertained.
People Management
• Supervises Store Assistants and ensures the quality of work meets with performance expectations.
• Assigns tasks and responsibilities to the Store Assistants to ensure effective workflow.
Integrated Management System
• Documents, implements and maintains the requirements of the Quality, Food Safety,
• Environment, Health and Safety management systems.
Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum of a first degree in Procurement, Stores Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
• SAP Proficiency is a requirement Knowledge of storekeeping systems and best practices.
• Proficiency in stock management software.
• Keen attention to detail and good record-keeping.
