About TAZARA:
The Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) is a statutory institution jointly owned by the Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Zambia, with equal (50/50) shareholding. TAZARA is incorporated by Acts of Parliament in both countries, with its Registered Head Office in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and two Regional Administrative Centres, one in Mpika, Zambia, and the other in Dar es Salaam.
TAZARA is inviting suitably qualified Tanzanian nationals to apply for the Locomotive Drivers Training Programme at the TAZARA Training Centre (TTC) in Mpika, Zambia. Candidates who successfully complete the programme will be eligible for employment under TAZARA’s Permanent and Pensionable Conditions of Service.
Course Details:- Course Title: Locomotive Drivers
- Duration: 24 Months
- Mode of Sponsorship: Self-Sponsorship
- Cost of Training: USD $1,300.00 (covers registration, tuition fees, meals, accommodation, and medical services during training)
To be eligible for this programme, candidates must:
- Be a Tanzanian national
- Possess Form IV or VI Certificates with at least six (6) credits, including English and Mathematics
- Be aged between 18 – 35 years
- Possess a birth certificate
- Be able to meet the cost of training and travelling to and from Mpika, Zambia
Interested and qualified candidates should submit their application letters by 30th January 2025, describing how they meet the eligibility criteria, and enclose certified copies of their Grade 12 Certificate and NRC.
