(but are not limited to):
• Review architectural, structural, and engineering drawings, providing informed recommendations to enhance design, materials, and construction methodology - aiming to optimize cost, quality, and performance.
• Produce or adapt timber fabrication and construction drawings to facilitate efficient, high-precision build execution.
• Supervise all on-site timber fabrication and construction activities, including carpentry and joinery teams. Lead daily site operations: work scheduling, safety, inventory, tool and equipment oversight, and site security.
• Support the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BQs) and assist with procurement planning and execution.
• Collaborate closely with the project manager, provide required data and information, monitor and report on progress, identify challenges, and propose practical solutions to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
• A degree or diploma in Carpentry, Timber Engineering, Building Technology, or Construction Management and specializing in timber framing and joinery with minimum of 5-10 years’ hands-on timber construction experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in timber frame construction, bespoke joinery, and fabrication of timber elements including doors, windows, and furniture. Experience working with reclaimed or recycled timber is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or equivalent design and drafting software.
• Hands-on experience with timber fabrication machinery, joinery tools, and contemporary timber construction techniques.
• A strong understanding of sustainable timber practices and environmental design principles.
• Familiarity with interior design and building finishes.
• Excellent project supervision, coordination, and quality control skills, with a sharp eye for detail and finish.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work fluidly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
