The primary purpose of a driver’s job is transporting pupils, staff and other passenger or handling deliveries in a timely manner. A driver may have to work nights and weekends to accomplish their duties. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, punctuality, good knowledge of traffic laws, and prior driving experience is a requirement

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Guarantee an efficient, safe and timely transport of passengers according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
• Transport children, staff or other passengers to and from destinations in a timely manner
• Fulfil administrative needs, like office pickups, door to door policy for dropping and picking of pupils
• Always ensure safety of passengers, pupils during Education Trips, sports activities and all other assigned driving duties
• Adhere to traffic laws
• Ensure the vehicle is always fuelled and take responsibility for fuel usage on allocated vehicle
• Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed and supervise maintenance of allocated vehicle.
• Keep mileage records and repair records up to date
• Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays Perform regular safety checks on vehicles
• Record all incidences and accidents relating to JGA fleet and its users and report to the Transport Manager
• Always interact with clients professionally
• Maintaining vehicles cleanliness
• Attend team and staff meetings
• Any other duties assigned by Transport Manager/ Head of Department
Qualifications and Experience
• Valid Driving License, Diploma in Auto- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institution preferably NYS
• Knowledge of highway code and School Bus Regulations
• Possess a PSV License
• Possess an (ABCE), B, B3, C, C1, D, D1, D2, D3 – Class Driving License for more than 5 years
• School Bus Transportation Driving Experience preferably within Nairobi
• Good communication skills
• Basic First Aid Knowledge
