About About the Programme

AU-EU Youth Voices Lab – Power of the Collective (“AU-EU Youth Voices Lab – PoC” from herein) is a four-year initiative with a six-month inception period.

Through its actions, it seeks to create a more youth-responsive and inclusive society. The initiative is driven by five partners that combine expertise in youth-led and youth-informed work: Oxfam, Restless Development, Search for Common Ground, Youthmakers Hub, and ComDev Africa. Their track record on tackling key issues of the Agenda 2063, the SDGs, and the AU-EU partnerships from a youth perspective, ensures the project meets the requirements of the call for proposals, creates synergies, avoids duplication of efforts, innovates, and delivers.

AU-EU Youth Voices Lab – PoC focuses on youth – ages 15 to 35, from different backgrounds, including young people living in hard-to-reach areas, youth civil society groups (Africa, Europe and African Diaspora in Europe), and enablers/decision-makers (AU and EU, governments, CSOs, Corporates, other).

AU-EU Youth Voices Lab – PoC focuses, primarily, on interventions to support young Africans in the continent and the diaspora in Europe in their journey towards increased engagement, connection, and empowerment, and interventions that support enablers/decision-makers in their journey to develop equal partnerships with young people and to create the conditions to address the key needs and priorities of the younger generations. In turn, these outcomes contribute to the availability and implementation of budgeted and relevant youth-responsive policy frameworks (AU-EU cooperation plans/partnerships, strategies, others), leading to a more youth-responsive and inclusive society in which the aspirations of existing and future development frameworks are delivered, leaving no one behind.

More details can be found on the project’s website:  all its communication channels, the AU-EU Youth Voices lab project uses English and French. We promote inclusion and diversity in the 15 countries through small country teams based at either country offices. We have adopted English as the main language while French is the key language. This means that most of the information featured on the website and sometimes social media must be shared in both languages. The aim is to translate as much information as possible, which is no easy feat with close to 15 countries the project will support.

Information to be translated on a regular basis includes information related to recruitment of the Youth Advisory Board Members, grantee profiles, Calls for Proposals, proposal and reporting templates, stories, blogs, monthly newsletter (called VoiceMail), annual reports, publications, etc. Apart from the annual report and the VoiceMail, the translation should take no more than 7 working days.

Restless Development is urgently seeking a creative, inclusive, attention-oriented translation team who can provide professional translation services both English-French and French-English.
