Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technologist with experience in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to join the KWCWC team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably within an NGO dealing with GBV. This role is crucial in supporting clinical operations, particularly in conducting laboratory tests and ensuring the safety and well-being of GBV survivors.
Responsibilities:
The laboratory technician will be responsible for the following;
- Evaluate specimens received by laboratory and organize workflow to provide optimum efficiency of testing and turnaround times of results
- Perform quality control, validation, and other quality activities to verify performance of assays
- Maintain equipment by performing assigned maintenance activities and troubleshoot unexpected problems for the equipment
- Evaluate inventory of supplies and reagents and communicate order needs
- Operate complex equipment and computer programs related to laboratory equipment and other accessories.

Qualifications:

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technologist with at least 3 years of experience working in pharmaceutical services. This role will involve not only the standard duties of a pharmacy technologist but also sensitivity and care in working with survivors of violence, ensuring the safe dispensation of medication, particularly to those related to trauma.
Responsibilities:
The pharmacy technologist will be responsible for the following:
- Issuing medicines to survivors and patients, furnishing information and advice to patients with regard to the use of medicines.
- Counselling survivors and patients on the proper use of drugs they are taking.
- Determining survivors and patient compliance with the therapy and follow up to ensure that patient’s medicine related needs are being met
- Evaluating survivors and patient’s medication-related needs by determining the indications, safety and effectiveness of therapy.

The Clinician will be responsible for the following:
- Trauma Care: Deliver expert medical treatment to patients presenting with a wide range of trauma-related injuries. Provide initial assessment, stabilization, treatment, and follow-up care.
- GBV Response and Care: Lead the medical response for survivors of gender-based violence, including conducting thorough medical examinations, treating physical injuries, and managing the psychological impact of trauma.
- Forensic Examination: Perform forensic examination, collect evidence when necessary, and work in collaboration with legal teams and law enforcement in GBV cases.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychologist with 3-5 years of experience in providing therapeutic care for individuals including gender-based violence survivors. The ideal candidate will have specialized training in trauma-informed care, with the ability to offer psychological assessments, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support to survivors of physical, sexual, and emotional violence. This role requires both clinical expertise and a deep understanding of the psychological impact of trauma and GBV on individuals and communities.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations of trauma and GBV survivors to identify mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide GBV case management services through high quality and confidential interventions in line with minimum standards for service. This will include assessment of needs, development of an action plan for recovery, development of a safety plan when needed, conducting referrals to relevant services, implementing the action plan and ensuring appropriate follow up and case closure.
- Provide counselling for patients referred for case management services including those in the shelter.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate psychological support to patients in acute distress due to trauma or GBV, including safety planning and risk assessments for those in abusive situations.
- Produce and maintain accurate records and follow up action plans of the beneficiaries. File and store data in the KWCWC Health Management Information Systems.
- Provide emotional support to patients and/or survivors through individual and group sessions.
- Make referrals for health care and a multidisciplinary range of other services.
- Expand and strengthen multi-sectoral referral pathways for GBV survivors including training of service providers.
- Ensure daily quantitative and qualitative reporting through specific reporting tools (Assessment Form, Psychological follow up form, Intake Form, etc)
- Research and Program Development: Contribute to program development and research initiatives related to trauma and GBV to improve treatment outcomes and provide innovative solutions.
