    Role Overview: 

    • The Associate, Community and Livelihood, will play a crucial role in supporting MSC's projects aimed at enhancing community livelihoods and economic opportunities, particularly in rural and underserved areas. The position requires a blend of fieldwork, research, and project management skills to effectively contribute to MSC’s initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct community consultations and engagement activities to understand local livelihood needs and aspirations.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including community leaders, local NGOs, government agencies, and partner organizations.
    • Assess local livelihood opportunities, challenges, and constraints through field research, surveys, and interviews.
    • Contribute to the development of strategies and interventions to enhance community livelihoods, focusing on sustainable agriculture, income generation, and enterprise development.
    • Support the implementation of livelihood enhancement projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    •  Monitor project activities, collect data, and prepare progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for community members on topics such as financial literacy, agricultural best practices, entrepreneurship, and market linkages.
    • Provide ongoing support and mentoring to project beneficiaries to strengthen their capacity and resilience.
    • Document project learnings, success stories, and best practices.
    • Contribute to the development of knowledge products, case studies, and reports on community livelihoods and economic empowerment.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Development Studies, Economics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
    • At least 1-3 years of experience in community development, livelihoods, rural finance, or related fields.
    • Strong understanding of rural contexts, community dynamics, and livelihood challenges.
    • Experience in conducting field research, community assessments, and stakeholder consultations.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
    • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team in multicultural settings.
    • Ability to travel extensively within and outside the country and occasionally internationally.
