    Job Overview:

    • We are looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy IT Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our IT systems. The ideal candidate will assist in managing hardware and software, ensuring that all runs smoothly, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. You will play a key role in ensuring that the IT infrastructure is in good working condition, allowing for seamless operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical support to staff and assist with troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including Retail management systems, computers, and printers.
    • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of retail hardware (POS systems, barcode scanners, receipt printers, etc.) and software.
    • Monitor the performance of IT systems and ensure that all technology is functioning optimally throughout the retail environment.
    • Assist with managing the retail network, ensuring that internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, and other communication tools are operational.
    • Help with data backup and recovery procedures to protect important data and ensure business continuity.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as updating software, installing patches, and ensuring that security systems are up to date.
    • Support the setup and management of employee accounts, including configuring workstations, access permissions, and security settings.
    • Collaborate with external vendors or IT support services for any major technical issues or system upgrades.
    • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal IT policies, maintaining a secure IT environment for sensitive retail and customer data.
    • Train team members on the proper use of IT systems, software, and hardware, ensuring staff can effectively utilize technology in their daily tasks.
    • Provide support during system or software updates and work with the team to minimize downtime during peak hours.
    • Assist with inventory management of IT equipment and supplies, ensuring necessary technology is available and well-maintained.
    • Document and log any technical issues, resolutions, and IT-related procedures for future reference.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in IT support or a similar technical role, preferably in a retail or customer service environment.
    • Knowledge of retail POS systems and retail software applications.
    • Familiarity with network administration, hardware maintenance, and software troubleshooting.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose technical issues quickly and accurately.
    • Ability to work under pressure, especially during busy hours, and handle technical issues promptly.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems, retail management software, or inventory management systems.
    • Knowledge of security protocols and practices for protecting sensitive retail data.
    • Familiarity with PABX phone systems, system backups, and data recovery procedures.
    • Knowledge of hardware repair or troubleshooting, including workstations and printers.
