    Job Purpose Statement

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Security Architecture, the role holder is responsible for designing and implementing cyber security systems in line with best practices to ensure they meet all requirements including adequate security, capacity, and performance.

    The role is also in charge of the day-to-day running of the Cyber Security solutions and services to ensure 99.999% uptime. They will provide technical security expertise and 2nd level support to staff and external partners to ensure the efficient use of systems and tools.

    Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

    Architecture & Governance 30%

    • They will develop security architecture best practices and ensure they incorporated in the implementation of technology systems.
    • Periodically benchmark and review the security architecture in line with best practice and business strategy.
    • Understand and interact with related disciplines through committees to ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all technology projects, systems, and services.

    Security Engineering 40%

    • Architect and design cyber security systems in line with best practices to ensure they meet user requirements including adequate security, capacity, and performance.
    • Define cyber security requirements and acceptance criteria for new systems.
    • Recommend major upgrades where required and liaise with the operations team when doing the upgrades especially if it affects the design/architecture of the system.
    • Do the technical evaluations and PoCs on Technology and Security solutions.
    • Conduct research and development on new areas in security and present on them for sensitization and knowledge transfer to other team members/staff.
    • Ensure all security systems implemented have high availability and disaster recovery in accordance with best practices.

    Research and Development 25%

    • Research on emerging technologies such as cloud, AI, and Quantum computing to identify applicable threats and their mitigations.
    • Direct and mentor & develop team members and vendors assigned to the department.
    • Automate cyber processes and risk mitigation.
    • Ensure attendance of research & innovation sessions with other teams such as Digital Engineering and Enterprise architecture.

    People and Leadership 5%

    Job Specifications

    Academic:

    • University degree, in Computer Science or technical field.

    Professional:

    • Information security certifications e.g. CISSP/CISM/CISA/CEH

    Job Purpose Statement

    The Application Support Manager is responsible for the 2nd Line Engineering Support of the Digital Banking Platform and other business systems to guarantee uptime, performance and scalability of the critical services offered to internal and external customers. The role involves hand-ons technical actions, strategic and people leadership with a focus on incident analysis & resolution; problem management;  proactive patching & maintenance, compliance actions; business continuity plans planning and execution and delivering continuous automations and improvements.

    He/she will lead a team of support specialists and interface with platform monitoring engineers, solution architects, software developers, platform vendors, technology security engineers, database administrators, system administrators , product & projects teams.

    Compliance and Risk Management (20%)

    Job Purpose Statement

    The Senior Manager, Cyber Security Architecture and Engineering is responsible for designing and implementing cybersecurity tools to mitigate cyber risks and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. The tools implemented will cover critical systems such as Mshwari, Mokash, MPAWA and LOOP apps in Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ivory Coast. The focus areas will include Network, Application, Database and Operating system among others. The role will drive continuous tuning and administration of the implemented solutions.

    The role will also lead Technology Security Research and Development in modern technologies such as cloud computing, containerization, AI, and Quantum computing. They will develop security engineering best practices for a fast paced and agile based digital banking environment.

    Job Purpose Statement

    The role holder is responsible for implementing the NCBA Group-wide ICT Assets & Vendor management strategy by ensuring proper controls and protection of the IT Assets throughout their lifecycle, from acquisition to final disposition, in line with best practices and the NCBA group ICT guidelines.

    Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

    IT Hardware and Software Lifecycle Management (50%)

    • Ensure efficient tracking, utilization, maintenance, and secure disposal of IT assets.
    • Configuration management for all CI network protocols, e.g., SNMP 3 for asset discovery.
    • Software license compliance tracking.
    • Design group Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

    Vendor and Contract Management (20%)

    • Automate and track all IT contracts.
    • Collaborate with procurement to ensure optimal assets are procured and adherence to SLAs.
    • Design and track digital certificates expiry.

    Compliance and Audit (20%)

    • Respond to Risk/Audit/Compliance & regulatory obligations.
