    Role Outline

    Support members of the local management team on HR processes and activities across the site. Co-ordinating the HR needs of an organisation, including the designation of work, employee selection, training and development, rewards, performance assessment and union relationship management. Provide specialised services to staff members, and line managers by supporting the processes and systems related to HR management and practices in the following clusters: Recruitment, Industrial Relations, HR Systems, Policies and Procedures, Learning and Development.

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    To assist Line Management with the implementation and management of Human Resources policies, procedures, systems and practices at operational level.

    • Sign-off and submit monthly payroll input.
    • Follow-up weekly with Site Management on Kronos Exceptions.
    • Validation and sign-off of Kronos hours reports with DC Manager and submission to payroll.
    • Assist with absenteeism management.
    • Assist with death and disability claims - prepare and submit all necessary paperwork and do follow-ups.
    • Provides support and guidance to align HR policies and programs.
    • Resource planning, budgeting and cost management.
    • Ensure all employee files are up to date.
    • Provide support to the DC Manager and Site Leadership Team regarding EOS (MATT Administration / Update, Survey Administration, EOS Process).
    • Provide support to DC Manager and Site Leadership Team on IR related matters (disciplinary processes, grievances, hearings, warnings).
    • Liaise with DC Manager and Site Leadership Team in assisting with any training needs and implementation of training plans.
    • Ensure that you work according to relevant procedures at all times.
    • Involvement in new business and projects.
    • Successful implementation of HR related functions for OMS.
    • Preparation and compliance to various client and business audits.
    • Adherence to all SOPs, work instructions, policies and procedures.
    • Compliance to MyHR process. 
    • Effective HR communication - update communication zones with all relevant HR information and activities.
    • Elevate problems or queries to your line manager for resolution.
    • Develop strong, trusting relationships with DC Manager, Site Leadership Team, Employees, Clients, and other business stakeholders.
    • Co-ordination of succession planning management.
    • Co-ordination of performance management.
    • Ensure integrity of all information produced at all times.
    • Assist in the management and control of overtime.
    • Assist in the management and control of the Labour Broker staff.
    • If operationally required, assist where needed within the operation.
    • Prepare leave documentation (prepared by HRBP).
    • Training for new joiners relating to ESS and MSS.
    • Site Boards Maintenance.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Professional HR Qualification.
    • 3 years in HR Generalist Role.
    • Experience in a Warehousing / Logistics environment (Advantageous).
    • Training & Development (Skills Development).
    • Sound Recruitment Knowledge.
    • IT literate: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Very good knowledge of IR i.e. Disciplinary hearings, conciliations, arbitrations, Union interactions.
