    KEY ACCOUNTS SALES REPRESENTATIVE

    • Our client, a well-established company in the FMCG sector and with a long track record in Kenya and overseas Markets, is hiring a Key Account Sales Rep.
    • The Job holder will be responsible for developing and implementing Key Accounts plans in accordance to the trade & distribution strategy as well execute sales, distribution and trade Programme activities.

    Reports to: Key Accounts & Institutions Manager

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities are as follows:

    Operational Roles and Responsibilities

    • Ensure achievement of volume/brand mix targets, availability, visibility, quality and customer price targets are within designated key account.
    • Implementation of key accounts strategy as advised by the Key Accounts Manager.
    • Ensure that objectives in terms of availability, visibility, volume and customer price of products are achieved in the area
    • Negotiate and take orders from Key Accounts customers through scheduled or periodical visits, ensuring that the trade coverage and visit frequency targets are met according to the route plans
    • Provide data and maintain accurate records on competitor’s moves on sales and distribution performance in order to guarantee that Key Accounts Manager is fully informed at all times
    • Achieve distribution objectives of product availability, customer service levels and stock rotation to ensure the company meets the highest levels of customer satisfaction
    • Ensure high levels of product visibility through displays and merchandising materials at customer premises as guided by the Key Accounts Manager
    • Manage all assigned funds, materials and equipment in a secure and efficient manner in order to maximise the use of organisation assets 
    • Minimize commercial risks in area of operation
    • Ensure that internal control procedures are followed in relation to the identification and resolution of cash and stock shortage discrepancies
    • Ensure customer credit terms are adhered to in designated Key Accounts
    • Ensure marketing activations are executed properly
    • Any other official duties as directed by the Key Accounts Manager

    Working Relationships

    Internal:

    • Share data regarding customers in the territory with Key Accounts Manager and HOSM

    External:

    • Develop an effective working relationship with customers by giving assistance and support through regular communication and the prompt handling of problems and customer requests.

    Key Result Areas:

    The accountability areas are as follows;

    • Development of key market shareholding
    • Attainment of monthly sales targets
    • Ensure customer satisfaction in the designated area
    • Gather, analyse and maximise potential growth areas
    • Effective utilization of assigned company resources
    • Effective cost exposure and control

    Knowledge and Skills Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business related field
    • Minimum of two (2) years of sales experience
    • Proficiency in computer use
    • Demonstrated knowledge of basic brands
    • Strong selling and negotiation skills
    • Good written and oral reporting skills
    • Valid driving licence with actual driving experience
