POSITION: SAFETY OFFICER – HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

REPORT TO: ASSISTANT MNGR HSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and Monitor HSE Systems
  • Risk Assessment and Control
  • Training and Awareness
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Compliance and Auditing
  • Health Monitoring.
  • Waste and Environmental Management
  • Communication and Reporting
  • Facility Maintenance Oversight:
  • Ensure good housekeeping across the plant, monitor hygiene conditions in public areas, and oversee the maintenance of fire safety installations.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Assist in HSE Committee meetings, support site inspections by OSHA, Fire, and NEMC teams, and act on recommendations to ensure timely compliance.
  • Any other duties assigned by Superior

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Must have good leadership and communications skills
  • Shall be fully conversant with the legal requirements of OSHA, Fire Safety and NEMC as per the Tanzanian laws
  • Must have good knowledge of General Safety, Fire safety, Environmental management, risk assessment procedures,
  • Health and Hygiene.
  • Drive the implementation of approved HSE policies and management systems in the organization.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences. Other certificates like Fire Manager etc are desirable.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5years’ field experience as HSE Officer in Cement Industry or Construction or Oil & Gas industry is mandatory.
