Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting fieldwork for data collection, including surveys and sample collection.
- Performing laboratory experiments to refine ONT protocols for pathogen detection.
- Utilizing ONT sequencing and bioinformatics tools to analyze genomic data, identify disease pathogens, and detect antimicrobial resistance genes.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals, government officials, and community stakeholders to support the effective application of research findings.
- Engaging in training sessions and workshops to develop research translation skills and promote evidence-based policymaking.
Vacancy Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry/Microbiology / Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Genomics or any related biological science course from a recognized institution and should have registered for M.Sc. in the above fields. Mandatory
- Be familiar with conducting extensive literature reviews Mandatory
- Conversant with basic microbial culture techniques and epidemiology Mandatory
- Be familiar with whole genome sequence technologies and applications Mandatory
