To work alongside and in cooperation with the Skills staff and the Programme Coordinator in order to contribute to the achievement of the Goals and objectives of MSDP by ensuring the skills centre is running effectively, meeting TVET national quality standards.

• Degree in Food and beverage production
• Have vast knowledge and experience in TVET education for not less than 5 years of which should be in a management position
• Demonstrate high standards of professional competence and ability in TVET management.
• Possess a good understanding of national trends in TVET, TVET’s role in the context of Vision 2030 and relevant government policies
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft applications (word, excel, power point) and email
• Ability to guide and monitor staff through supportive supervision
• Good planning and organizing skills
• High level of soft skills with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in working in informal settlements and taking into considerations specific needs of students from informal settlements
• Ability to work in cultural, educational and religious diversity
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensuring Quality Education and Training that is in line with the Government of Kenya’s standards and requirements and meets the needs of the trainees
• Promote and maintain standards, quality and relevance of education and training at the institution
• Instruct (Food & Beverage Production)
• Supervise curriculum delivery in the institution
• Develop and implement tools for monitoring training quality; continuous monitoring of quality of training
• Monitoring the establishment of linkages with industries and attachment places
• Ensuring that each trainee gets a high quality attachment place and completes training with state-of-the art practical skills
• Development of a quality assurance system that ensures high standards of TVET training is achieved
2. Implementing a state-of-the art administrative and management system
• Plan, monitor and manage the administration of the Institution
• Supervise all personnel assigned to the school
• Completion of all staff evaluations
• Responsible for compiling and submitting all reports to the Programmes Coordinator
• Supervise completion and filing of all student records
• Development, regular updating and implementation monitoring of relevant standard operating procedures and policies
• Initiate and spearhead the development and implementation of the institution’s strategic plan
• Initiate and spearhead the development of annual plans and staff work plans; monitor implementation of annual plans and work plans
3. Ensuring financial sustainability of the College
• Facilitating and promoting entrepreneurship and industrial incubation in technical training through the engagement of income-generating activities.
