Our client a Manufacturer in Mombasa is looking to fill the role of a Procurement Manager who will be responsible for reducing purchasing cost, procuring quality material, ensuring timely deliveries, checking bills and timely bill payment.

  • Minimum Qualification :Diploma
  • Experience Level :Mid level
  • Experience Length :8 years

Reporting to: CEO

Location: Mombasa, Kenya

Type of Employment: 2 years Renewable Contract

Responsibilities

  •  Would be responsible for reducing purchasing cost, procuring quality material, ensuring timely deliveries, checking bills and timely bill payment.
  •  Negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost & quality so as to obtain maximum benefit of company.
  •  Reviewing, comparing, analysing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  •  In charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, releasing PO and following up on Purchase Orders delivery and shipment schedules
  •  Resolve supply, quality, service and invoicing issues with vendors
  •  Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records
  •  Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  •  Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
  •  Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  •  Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports
  • Working experience on ERP’s

Qualifications

  • Diploma / Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Requisite Experience Essential
  • Min 8 yrs in Procurement Background Preferred and a Min 3 years in a Managerial position.

  •  Proven knowledge in the area of sourcing
  • Team working capabilities.
  •  Strong, effective negotiation skills
  • Good Working Knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Powerpoint
