AUMS Geofields Tanzania is an international leader in mechanized hard rock underground mining. As part of Perenti, an ASX 200 company and Australia’s second-largest integrated mining services provider, AUMS Geofields operates across Africa in Tanzania, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Botswana, Australia, and North America.
We are seeking experienced individuals to join our team and help optimize blast designs. The following vacancy is currently open:
Position: Production Charge Up OperatorLocation: Geita Gold Mine, Geita, Tanzania
Position Purpose:This role is responsible for carrying out the charging of Jumbo development rounds, stripping rounds, and longhole stopes in a safe and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:Use a variety of explosives and initiating systems based on drill pattern, rock type, and hole dimensions.
Handle and transport explosive materials safely according to procedures.
Charge up holes, down-holes, and development drives.
Charge up and fire stope blasts according to the blast plan.
Ensure the working area is safe for personnel and equipment to perform duties.
Liaise with Geologists, Engineers, and Shift Supervisors to optimize blast designs and improve blast performance.
At least 5 years of experience in production charging.
Experience with i-kon Charging and Logging.
Proficiency in charging with both Emulsion and ANFO.
Sound understanding of charge plans and charge stopes according to the plan.
Ability to conduct density testing of Emulsion.
Experience in operating a Normet Charmec LC605 charging unit.
Sound mechanical knowledge of the Normet and Hypercharge Units.
Valid Tanzanian Driver’s License.
Tanzanian Blast Certificate.
A recent Tanzanian police clearance certificate.
Flexibility and willingness to assist with varied tasks and responsibilities.
Prior experience in an underground charge-up role.
