A manufacturing company based in Kericho that manufactures for export is seeking for fill the position of Quality and Safety Manager. The successful candidate will be in charge of all day-to-day work relating to quality assurance, health, safety and new projects. The position is available on one-year renewable contract subject to successful review with a salary dependent on qualification, skills and experience.

  • Experience Level :Mid level
  • Experience Length :5 years

In charge of all day-to-day work relating to quality assurance, health, safety and new projects.

Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance Process

a) Review and develop quality assurance process for retail material products.

b) Review and advise on quality assurance process for other sections.

c) Review and advise on quality assurance policies and write the required procedures.

d) Recommend relevant compliance systems for implementation such as ISO, HACCP, TQM and other quality management systems.

e) Train other team members in quality assurance.

f) Recommend technology or manufacturing improvements to increase efficiency and speed.

2. Health and Safety Process

a) Review and develop health and safety policies.

b) Ensuring implementation of safety policies.

c) Conduct risk assessments to identify work areas with high risk of operational hazard

d) Review operational processes to ensure they are in line with safety legislation.

e) Oversee waste disposal methods to ensure compliance with NEMA.

f) Organize safety training per legislation.

3. Testing and Development

a) Conduct equipment inspection to ensure they are correctly installed and operational.

b) Conduct risk assessments to identifyrisk of operational hazard.

c) Work with production staff, UK and US Technical teams for testing and developing new products.

4. Administration

a) Work with managers to review staffing levels in line with production requirements.

b) Responsibility for the maintenance of the workplace.

c) Any other duties that may be assigned.

Candidate Requirements

1. Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Sciences.

2. Training / experience in setting up Quality Management Systems.

3. Training / experience in health and safety.

4. Minimum 5 years experience.

5. An open-minded approach and keen eye for details.
